Music plays an exciting role in the life of Nashville First Baptist Church. The Sanctuary Choir serves at the forefront of the church’s worship, praise, and outreach ministries. It is comprised of people who love God, have a heart for worship, and enjoy using their voices to magnify and praise the Lord. The Nashville First Baptist Sanctuary Choir is the most active musical group in the church as they lead the congregation in worship each Sunday and present major concerts and musicals throughout the year in many exciting, creative, and compelling ways. The annual Carol-Candlelight Celebration, Keyboards at Christmas presentations, and non-seasonal musical events are highly acclaimed in the Greater Nashville community. The Sanctuary Choir has performed at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Members representing the Nashville First Sanctuary Choir have made appearances at Carnegie Hall, Washington National Cathedral, the Grand Ole Opry House, with the Tennessee Titans, and the great cathedrals of Salzburg and Vienna, Austria.
The Sanctuary Choir is conducted by Worship and Music Pastor, Joe A. Fitzpatrick. The accompanists are Kim Hester and Kenneth Varner. The Worship and Music Ministry Team also includes Music Ministry Assistant, Laurie Hall; Children’s Choir Coordinator, Gwenn Fitzpatrick; Worship and Music Associate, Jason Cox; and Technical Director, Wesley Lankford.
